Skyrim Breaks 8-Year Old UK Record

UK software sales tracker GFK Chart-Track says Skyrim is the first game in eight years to claim the #1 spot on the Christmas Chart that wasn't released by Electronic Arts or Activision.
The record started with EA’s ‘Medal of Honor: Rising Sun’ back in 2003. Since then, the top Christmas Chart titles include: NFS: Underground 2 (2004), NFS: Most Wanted (2005), FIFA ‘07 (2006), CoD 4: Modern Warfare (2007), FIFA ‘09 (2008), CoD: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), and CoD: Black Ops (2010). The last title to reach #1 not released by EA or Activision was Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002 from Take-Two.
Bethesda recently announced Skyrim has shipped 10 million copies worldwide since launching November 11. The company said it generated around $650 million in retail sales.
Well I havent actually played this game yet but because of this you can be sure that I will give it a go!

Ghost Recon or Assassins Creed?

What would you prefer? Xbox have chosen to stick with ghost recon: future soldier given the choice of both, even though the assassins creed franchise has already won awards for most bought game in its year of release of 2009. So they have gone for the safe route of partnering with the old school game that everyone loves, but I wonder is it the right option of the two...? The latest installment in the Assassins Creed Franchise is already out, where-as we are still waiting for the new Ghost Recon which has been announced. It seems to me that they are taking an very long time for there game. I could understand if it were to be a game of the decade such as the no1 best seller Cal of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was, but for some reason I doubt that, what I think is that it will be just the same as all other shooters out their already with a few added extras to keep fans entertained. Where-as the Assassins creed franchise has content that players have never experienced before, it has a rich historical story which is the main selling point for the franchise, but also you don't start in with all guns blazing, you level up equip more advanced weapons and in the earlier games you did not have any fire-powers at all.

So for me I think that I would have defiantly chosen the Assassins Creed Franchise, but saying that I am a HUGE Creed fan!
